Tetris
Tetris (俄罗斯方块) is the timeless block-stacking puzzle. Seven tetromino shapes fall from the top of a ten-column well — move and rotate them to slot into complete horizontal rows. Each full row clears for points, and the pieces fall faster as you level up.
How to play
- Move the falling piece left and right, and rotate it to fit the gaps.
- Soft-drop to speed a piece down, or hard-drop to slam it instantly into place.
- Fill an entire horizontal row with blocks to clear it and score points.
- Use Hold to stash the current piece and swap in the one you saved.
- Clear ten lines to advance a level — gravity speeds up — and avoid stacking up to the top, which ends the game.
Tips
- Keep the stack flat — a bumpy surface is hard to recover from.
- Use Hold to stash an awkward piece for later.
- Leave one column open for a vertical I piece to score a Tetris.
FAQ
- Is Tetris free to play?
- Yes. Tetris runs free in your browser with no installs, downloads, or sign-up, on both desktop and mobile.
- How do you win Tetris?

- What is a Tetris and how does scoring work?
